A New Beginning

Putting up a blog is as easy as a few key strokes and a few mouse clicks. That is, until one tries to come up with a catchy phrase for the URL.

This is my fourth blog in as many years. Each of my last three blogs had served its purpose (my preferred theme) at the time; this time around, I wanted a platform to document my thoughts with filters at a minimum because a lot of self-sensorship happens, whether I'm conscious of it or not.

So there I was, thinking of catchy words and phrases, checking for URL availability and two things dawned upon me.
ONE: I was on a quest to be different, but as original as I thought I was, someone was always a few steps (or leaps & bounds) ahead of me. Unwritten, mydiscoveryjourney, mylifejourney, morebetterdifferent, nomorenoless, inthegame, outofthegame, livinlarge, skinnypiggy, nooriginality, notoriginal and a long trail of other phrases went through (and failed) the availability test. With so many phrases failing the test, I thought something was wrong with the system so I tried visiting the URLs... and that let me to...
TWO: leaving a blog untended is just as easy as putting up a blog, most of those I went through had less than four entries the last post being made as long as eight years ago. So kudos to those who've set up a blog and kept it alive.

As I close this entry out, I have to wonder... how many of these 'single-entry' 'long-dead' blogs are out there, a waste of interesting URLs? And will this blog become just another statistic? Time, or more accurately, "what is my intention" will tell.
